Description
Cashews are rich in monounsaturated and “good” fats (43.80%) and have a fair protein (18.20%) and starch (23.50%) content. They are relatively poor in water (5.2 %); only about 3% is represented by sugar and fiber. The presence of a good quantity of selenium offers excellent benefits against joint pain, thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties. Cashews are ecellent against high cholesterol. The monounsaturated fatty acids they contain, such as oleic and palmitic acid, seem to be able to significantly reduce bad LDL cholesterol and instead increase good HDL cholesterol. The nutritionist specifies “These beneficial effects have also a preventive action against the cardiovascular system, in particular against strokes and heart attacks and various heart diseases”.
